Lake Chelan 2012 Part 4- The last one!

Kenley wanted to be just like the big boys. It was sad to say goodbye to the Latimer's! We had so much fun with them!

This is why there are teeth marks in my chap stick...

Brian and I snuck off for a date while the Grandparents watched the girls. It was exactly the kind of date that I love! We walked from the condo into town and chatted the whole way there. Then we walked around downtown Mansion looking at all of the menu's and restaurant choices. We settled on Orchard Wood Ovens. It was fantastic! If you are ever in Manson you really need to eat there!

We started off with the almonds which were delicious! I can't wait to try recreating them! I love me some rosemary and some salt!

I really love dates where we get to sit and talk and take our time relaxing and enjoying the evening!

For the pizza I talked Brian into the goat cheese and caramelized onion. He was very skeptical but gave in to me. :) He was very glad that he did because we both ended up absolutely loving the pizza! So much so that we made everyone come back with us the next night so that they could all try it too! I really want to try recreating this at home too!

The group of us polished off 2 large goat cheese and onion and 1 large sausage which was also fantastic. Then Bob decided to surprise us with ordering Brian and I a goat cheese and caramelized onion pizza to take on the road with us. They spoil us big time!

Let's just pretend that Brian's eyes are open and that this is a great family picture of us!

The girls were totally zonked on the way home. Claire rode the first half of the way home with an empty coconut water bottle hanging out of her mouth.

Kenley rode the first half of the way home with her blanket covering her face in what looks to be the most awkward sleeping position ever!

My only regret is that we didn't get a group picture of everyone. That is my number 1 goal for next year!

P.S. I'm already really excited for next years trip!

Lake Chelan 2012 Part 3

I kept seeing these signs everywhere... Pesticides are bad! Organic for the win!

The hilly 5 miler route was killer. Check out that last hill. It conquered be the first 2 runs but on the last one I finally conquered it!

Where's Kenley?

We had an unwanted visitor on our bed. Seriously huge and seriously creepy. I had a very hard time falling asleep that night. I am shocked that my night terrors haven't started back up again since this incident.

Classic Claire

I love this dock. The glass enclosure is genius for families with little kids! Seeing it full makes me happy! It was so sad to see the empty dock on the last day!

This is as good of a cousin picture as I could get... and probably as I can get for the next 10 years..

This is real life...

Lake Chelan 2012 part 1

Thursday, July 26, 2012

We had such an awesome time last week at Lake Chelan! Bob and Brenda were gracious enough to invite us over to stay the week with them at their rental house. The house was full of Kerrs, Latimers, Ronks x2, and Carruthers! Brian was only able to join us for the last half of the week because of school and boy were we happy to see him! He had quite the eventful time while he was home but that is a story for another post!

Recently, I have been relying on my iPhone to take pictures rather than my big camera. I did haul the big camera to Lake Chelan though and I figured I should take some pictures with it since I brought it. These pictures definitely show that I am out of practice with the big camera! I should probably make it a goal in August to practice more with my camera so that I don't have blurry photos anymore!

Amy is so smart. She brought balloons and lots of other random little things to keep the kids entertained in the afternoons. She is seriously such a good mom and a great planner! I just threw a bunch of toys in a basket and called it good but Amy actually thinks these things out and makes a plan! I am so glad that she was there!

Popcorn time:

She spent the majority of the week wearing this "crown" on her head or making someone else wear the "crown". In reality it is an inflatable ring for the kiddie pool but that didn't stop the majority of us from wearing the "crown" when she asked us too. Right Austin?

Austin and Travis:
Doesn't she look like she is up to something?

This was my view most of the week. Claire decided that it would be a good idea to start teething while we are on vacation and to also claim me as her territory. I think I only managed to eat 2 or 3 meals without her on my lap.

Kenley learned how to spit the pits of cherries. Cherries are now her favorite and she wants them all the time, I'm pretty sure the sole reason for that is that she gets a spit cup!

Be back later with all of the iPhone pictures!!
