Vinyl

Thursday, March 14, 2013

I have had my Silhouette machine for over a year now and I am just now getting into vinyl. Cutting vinyl seemed super intimidating to me, but it is actually really simple! I love how vinyl adds a special touch to ordinary objects! I have quite a few projects in the works but here are a few that I have finished!

A cup for our friend Liam's first birthday present.

Brian built the girls this dress up closet for Christmas and I finally decided on a vinyl color! I planned to do light blue to match their room, but pink just seemed to go well with dress up stuff. I used Regal font and split it with the Silhouette software to add the girls names.

Can you tell which cups I made and which cups are from Etsy? Amy bought the big preschool girls these bottles off of Etsy for Christmas and Kenley loved hers so much that I ordered Claire a matching one. A week after we got Claire's, she dropped it on cement and it cracked. I was super happy to find the same cups at Hobby Lobby so that I could add the vinyl myself! I had to make one for Asher too! The font is BoyzRGross.

Life Lately

Saturday, March 9, 2013

I went to a Pampered Chef party last week. I ordered a few things.... I was most excited about this french fry cutter for making sweet potato fries... but as I was posting this picture to the blog I noticed that it said not for sweet potatoes.... haha... We will see :)

I'm also excited to get this salad chopper. I hate big pieces of lettuce in salads it makes the salad so awkward to eat!

I have no words....

Play-doh is the best. It keeps her entertained for SO LONG! Bonus... she makes cute little play-doh faces!

This girl has entered into the "cheesy camera grin face" era...

She is also mastering the "lemon pucker camera face"...

My parents hosted a little western themed BBQ the other night and I intended to dress the girls in flannel shirts and cowboy boots to match the theme. Instead CLo ended up in her "Kala" dress with a flannel over it and pink boots... Very 1990's in Seattle punk rocker girl.

Add a bandanna and you now have the most random outfit ever.

It's hard to see, but both girls are swinging from the bar together. We LOVE gymnastics! I am so glad that we enrolled them! I hope to bring my big camera this week and get some good shots of the girls in action!

9th grade and 12th grade... Wow, we look so young...

I decorated Brian's lunch bag yesterday with the lyrics to Rebecca Black's Friday. My intent was to 1. Make him laugh 2. Get that song stuck in his head for the entire day.

He said it definitely made him laugh but the song was only stuck in his head for part of the day :) I'll call it a success!

Happy Weekend!

Painting before bed

Loving on Baby Shepherd!

I can cut monograms with my silhouette machine now! I am super excited about this! EVERYTHING will now have my monogram on it!

Q week! I don't have many pictures because I was the teacher.

Q-tip painting

Quinoa sensory letters

They kind of look like a Q... right? :)

Early morning wake-ups

Silly faces

Feeding the babies

Sister snuggles

I can't remember if I posted this picture already yet, but even if I did, its cute enough to post twice!

I think its hilarious to look at the differences between the older kids and the younger ones... Nate and Claire were yelling cheese at the top of their lungs.

Feta Salmon. Make it! I found the recipe on Meg's Fav Recipes. Its so simple! Salmon topped with garlic butter then topped with feta and a few capers. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown! Totally delicious!

I also found out the C.Lo loves egg salad!

The other day my parents watched the girls during the day and when Brian got home the house was super clean and tidy. I asked him what I should do with the rest of my night, he said that when the girls came back I would have plenty to do. He was right :)

I finally hung the tassel garland from Shepherd's shower in the girls room! They ripped it down the next day... I need to find a better way to attach it to the wall...

Thrift store score! I think that a daycare or something must have gotten rid of all their Little People. Yay for us!

Church with C.Lo

Happy lego crayons

This picture cracks me up! Brian was giving Kenley a hug goodbye and she said "I love you Daddy, I'll always forget you." He burst out laughing and I caught him mid laugh!

Bows for Beth!

My sweet baby niece arrived today!

Bethany Michelle Carruthers
 7 pounds 5 ounces and 18.5 inches

I've been on a bow making spree for her this week! I also made her this cute hair bow holder! Amy requested the oval shape and I am so glad that she did because I think it is so sweet!

I went back and forth using my hair bow tutorial and another way similar to this hair bow tutorial. I'm so excited to have another little girl in the family!
