Happy Birthday Kenley June!

Kenley's favorite animal has always been the giraffe!
We thought it would be fun to have a giraffe party!

She woke up to a giant giraffe stuffed animal in the kitchen this morning! I was so excited when we got it out that I wanted to wake her up last night while we were setting up :)

I didn't... but I sure wanted to!
You know I love a party!

My favorite decoration for the party is definitely this 5 made out of photos from her first 5 years! She has changed so much! I think I will definitely have to make this a tradition for all birthdays to come! It is fun (and a bit sad for my Mommy heart) to look back and reminisce at all those pictures of her chubby baby cheeks and toothy grins!

Party favors!
Notebooks with giraffe vinyl, pencils, and giraffe washi tape bookmarks!

I put a little collage together with pictures I cut out of a Woodland Park Zoo Calendar as well as pictures I have taken of Kenley with the giraffes at the zoo!

The Dessert Table...

We served Spaghetti Pie, Caesar Salad, Garlic Bread, Chips, Fruit, and Cucumbers for lunch because those are all of Kenley's favorite foods :)
(She also requested "Chicken with the Bones in it"... But that might be messier than Spaghetti for 15 kids to eat, so we're saving that for dinner) :)

For craft time I cut giraffes with my Silhouette and the kids made dots on them with Bingo Daubers. Super simple and all the kids really liked it!

I love surprise inside cakes!
Giraffe print!

Kenley was blessed with so many awesome presents!

Miss Christy made Kenley a giraffe ribbon headband... She is still wearing it like this... I don't know if she will take it off any time soon :) She LOVES it!

Happy Birthday Ken Ken! I am so thankful that I get to be your Mommy and spend my days with you! You have a sweet sensitive spirit and a heart to serve others! We are praying big things for you! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you and we love you so much!

We had a great week with Grandpa and Gramma! Of course we had to go to Baker's Kitchen! It's a requirement for any visitors :)

Since our blue car is out of commission, I spent lots of time in the back seat with the girls...

This is totally random... but our girls are wanting to go to another home school conference with the Goodfellows :)

Fred and Terri were awesome and let Brian and I go on a date! We haven't really had a date since we have lived here so it was much needed! We went to Circa 81 in Morehead City. It was SO YUMMY. Seriously such a great date night place!

Baked Brie... Order it!

After dinner we headed to the beach to hang out and chat...

The next day after Church we headed to the beach! Its pretty ridiculous that we live only 40 minutes away and haven't been before this! It was so fun! The girls loved every second of it! They played in the sand, jumped in the waves with Grandpa, and had a great time soaking up the sun!

We finished the Kirsten series! Up next: Felicity!

Fred and Terri watched the girls while I spent Monday-Wednesday at the Classical Conversations Practicum. I am super excited to start Classical Conversations this year with Kenley! I can't wait to relearn everything, especially the timeline of the world! Most of the time in my head there is a separate Biblical timeline and a "historical" timeline.... I love that CC teaches an integrated timeline! I am going to be a tutor for the 6 and 7 year olds. I will have a few of my favorite kiddos in my class so I am super excited about that!

Seriously...

Bright and early Thursday morning Grandpa and Gramma headed out.... We had to wake the girls... We aren't really morning girls :)

Can you believe they rode a motorcycle across the country!?

Library Story Time! Miss Deb at the Havelock Library is so wonderful with kids!

 Art for Kids Hub time!

It's Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon!

We have a whole Art for Kids wall now! I think the minions are my favorite!

Popcorn and The Lego Movie!

Someone is pretty excited for her upcoming birthday party :)

Claire draws people now... I love it!

Kenley drew this picture of her and Gracen. They are dressed like an elephant and a giraffe and are holding matching balloons :) She still loves her Bestie a lot!

We've started a new tradition with birthday count down chains! Kenley loves it! The very first thing she does when her eyes pop open in the morning is to run to cut off a chain :)

The girls have been cashing in lots of our summer reading coupons! This one was Frozen Yogurt with Daddy!

Green grapes... dipped in white chocolate... dipped in crushed peanuts....
So YUMMY!!!

I've been working on Kenley's birthday party decorations and stuff!

We tested out a craft that we might do at the party!

This shower curtain is my party inspiration colors.. I texted it to Amanda the other day and told her that I probably just should have bought this shower curtain rather than toiling away at the backdrop I am making! I'll have to remember this for next time!

Tuesday night we put the girls down for bed and then an hour-ish later we went in and woke them up an took them to McDonald's for Ice Cream cones! So fun!!
*I need to note that there was an incident with a HUGE Scorpion looking bug in Kenley's hair... I am still creeped out by it! Thankfully Daddy took care of it before she could find out!

Gramma and Grandpa arrived (on their motorcycle) Wednesday night so now we are having fun spending the week with them!
Can you believe that they rode their motorcycle across the whole country to get to us?! And... they are going to do it again in a week?!
