Flight Home! The Seasoned Traveler chillin in her own seat!
We had a great trip! The 2 weeks went by so fast! As you can tell by the curled hair in many of the pictures Kimberly played my stylist for the trip! It was so fun to have my hair curled and get all dolled up everyday! I am going to miss that! So is Brian :) It was so great to finally meet Baby James! Amy put pictures of that on her blog... mine weren't so flattering :). I am so excited that James and Kenley will get to grow up together! (At least for 4 years)! We are so excited to move to Washington!

5 Months Old!

Our sweet baby is growing so fast! She still loves to laugh and is now able to stand when we hold her up (She still needs to work on balance) :) She loves to hear her own voice so she squawks constantly! I think that she is going to be ready to try food soon because she really seems like she pays attention when we are eating and she puts everything in her mouth! I think that she may be teething!

This picture shows how she has been ALL day today. It is a direct result of not having grandparents to hold you whenever you want and give you whatever you want :)

Merry Christmas!

{This is our Christmas Card. If you didn't get one I am sorry! We decided that this year people in Washington would get Baby Announcements and people in North Carolina would get Christmas Cards. If I left you by out of both by accident I am really sorry and I can mail you one if you let me know!}

Things on my Mind

No. 5. I keep seeing Washington license plates and getting excited to see other people from Washington.... Hello we are in Washington no wonder all of the plates are from here! But when we are in North Carolina I totally get excited to see Washington plates!
No. 4. Apparently I have a southern accent now. Especially when I talk to Kenley or when I say Baby. I am at peace with that. :)
No. 3. I learned that people here in Washington actually read my blog. At Grace Church yesterday everyone commented on how they like to read my blog. That was nice! Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
No. 2. Taco Time is just as good as I remember.... But now it is more expensive. All food is way more expensive here!
No. 1. I am much more of a materialistic person in Washington. North Carolina doesn't seem to draw that out in me but Washington certainly does. I really need to get that particular sin in check before we move here.....
Speaking of moving to Washington.... We are! Brian got accepted to MECEP!! So that means that we will hopefully be moving in early August. I have the most bi-polar emotions about it ever! I am really excited about it but I also want to burst into tears at the very thought of moving and leaving our dear Pleasant Acres Family.... okay if I think about that any more I will cry so I am not going to write about it anymore!
Instead I am going to enjoy these awesome photos taken by Joan Dabrowski on Saturday

Oops Day

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

I am declaring yesterday, December 14th 2009, as Oops Day!

First,
Amy sent me a text message letting me know that Fred told her that we get in Wednesday night and that she wanted to let us know that he said that since I told her we get in Tuesday night and she didn't want us to be stranded at the airport. I reply back something to the effect of Silly Fred, I will call him and let him know. I went out to the garage to tell Brian about Amy's text. Brian then got online to check our itinerary and it turns out that we do in fact leave Wednesday and not Tuesday..... OOPS!!

Second,
I bought some white candles to finish off my Christmas decorating on our mantle above the couch. I had them all light and they looked so pretty for our "last night home". We snuggled up and watched The Biggest Loser finale while we ate our Sonic and Taco Bell because there is no food in the house because we were leaving "the next day" :). Then, Kenley woke up so I went to get her and as I turned to the couch I gasped as I saw that my pretty white pillar candle had in fact drizzled wax all over the side of our couch and left a burn mark too...... Big OOPS!!

Third,
This one is really a oops from last year's Christmas trip to Washington.
Last night Brian got our suitcases down from the attic. One came down just fine, the other came down covered in mold.... YUCK! Its totally my oops though because last year at this time I was obsessed with Amish Friendship Bread. I, for some reason, thought it would be a good idea to pack some and take it back to Washington to share with my friends there. I even packed it in a Tupperware so that it wouldn't leak. I didn't factor in the whole air expanding during flight thing or even the whole yeast expanding thing. So we finally get to Brian's parents house at like 2 in the morning and open up our suitcases and everything in my suitcase is covered in yeast-y friendship bread batter. So apparently I didn't clean the suitcase as well as I thought I had..... OOPS!

So today will be filled with scraping wax off of our couch and going to buy a new suitcase. The good news though is that Brian starts leave today since we were supposed to leave today! So I get to spend some extra time with him before we head to Washington!

Happy Oops Day to you!

Decking the Halls!

Monday, December 14, 2009

The Halls are Decked! We don't have a Christmas Tree this year. We actually haven't had one since our first Christmas together back in 2006. We will have one next year though no matter what!

Here is a little tour of our Christmas decor {Sorry that some of the pictures are blurry! I took most of them last night}
I made 2 Ornament Wreaths with Dollar Tree Ornaments! I absolutely love how they turned out but I think that this might have been the most frustrating project ever! It was like a puzzle trying to get the colors and sizes of ornaments to look right! If you want to make one click here.
A few years ago Grandma Marcy got me this cute stocking from Eddie Bauer. I took some branches from The Payne's Christmas tree and stuck them in there with a few berry picks and then I hung a little felt cardinal ornament on there. It smells all pine-y which I love! The Stockings are hung by the fire! :) For the stockings, I took cream colored sweaters from Goodwill and flipped them inside out and then took a sharpie and drew a stocking shape and then just stitched over the sharpie cut around the part that was sewn and then flipped them back to right side out! Super Easy Stockings! I like them but they would look much better on a different color wall so that they wouldn't blend in so much. I took some of the leftover dollar store ornaments and made this swag for above the window in the kitchen! I love it but I dropped the stupid thing twice while I was trying to hang it. Since that window is above the sink it fell into a dirty pot of water.... twice.... I love it though and I am thinking about leaving it up! I wont but I want too! Over our "bar" I have a garland strung with Christmas lights and filled with some of my red glass ornaments and on top of the piano I have some of my gold glass ornaments that I strung with pearls from our wedding so that they would stay clumped together. So that is it for the Ronk households 2009 Christmas Decor. I had plans for wreaths in our room and Kenley's room but I just ran out of time! Next Year!
