L Day @ PreSchool!

L Day!

The littles wanted in on the L action... Lets pretend the big kiddos are making the big L and the littles are making the little l :).

I was the teacher again this week since Amie's kiddos were still under the weather. Since it was just Amy and I, we kept Claire and Nate "in the class". They did so well! Totally exceeded our expectations!

Tasting Lemons and Limes

Amy did the L craft and I think it is so cute! A red L that the kiddos glued black spots, black wings, and lady bug heads on. Super cute!

Sadly, we went to the doctor this morning and both girls have ear infections so we will be missing M day tomorrow. I was scheduled to be the craft mom and already have the craft prepped so I'll drop it off at Amy's tonight and then let my girls do the craft at home tomorrow! I think it's going to turn out super cute!

These pictures are in totally random order!

I realize that this picture doesn't really make this dish look that appetizing. BUT it was SO GOOD!

Baby Shepherd!

Are we ready for this new adventure?

I am LOVING my new agenda!

I'm also loving The Child Training Bible. My plan is to do 1 section a day. It's good stuff! I am excited to be finished with it so that we can use it with the girls!

Gymnastics!

Sunday, January 20, 2013

We've enrolled Kenley in gymnastics! Her first class was on Tuesday and she LOVED it!

She was by far the littlest in the class... but that didn't bother her a bit!

The class was perfect for Kenley! Lots of running around and going through a gymnastics obstacle course! Kenley is a very active little girl so we think this will be the perfect outlet for her!

Claire cried the whole class because she wanted to be out there with her sister!

Luckily on Monday's the have a mommy and me class at the same time as the 3-6 year old class so Claire gets to start gymnastics too! We are all excited! Even though Kenley has been sick this week she has insisted on wearing her (borrowed from Gracen) gymnastics leotards EVERY day.

Our little girls are sick :(

It is so sad to hear them hacking away!

Crafts of the Day

Friday, January 18, 2013

Every {weekday} afternoon when Claire lays down for her nap, Kenley asks to do a craft. I try to do something different for her each time and I thought it would be fun to start documenting them on the blog!

Today, I gave Kenley a piece of light blue card stock and 3 colors of blue paint to paint the card stock. I told her to paint it like the ocean so that we could put her mermaid stickers (from the dollar tree) on the picture. Kenley loves to paint so she really likes it when we do painting crafts.

I'm sure I've mentioned it before but cut up egg cartons make great paint palattes for kids!
Once the paint was dry she added the mermaid stickers.

Her finished product hanging in her room:

On Tuesday, we did painting a little differently.

I cut a circle shape out of card stock with my silhouette and then I let Kenley choose some paint colors.

I put droplets of paint on the circle and then I covered the circle with plastic wrap and let Kenley move the paint around with her fingers. Kind of like finger painting but without the messy hands!

After the circle she wanted to do a K, so I cut one with my Silhouette.... I know... I know, I name drop that thing all the time now. I'm sorry but honestly I get so much use out of it!

Her finished K! I think it looks super cute and kind of tie-dyed.

This project is from last week but it has been one of my favorites! I used my Silhouette machine to design a template to cut papers to go underneath my clear iPhone case. I gave Kenley 3 white backgrounds and let her draw whatever she wanted on them.

She drew our family on all 3 :) Brian in the blue, Me in the dark pink, Kenley in light pink, and CLo in orange.

I find a lot of my craft ideas on Pinterest. Two of my favorite blogs for kid craft ideas are Whatever and Meet The Dubiens. I love both of those blogs so much!

K Day at PreSchool

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Last Wednesday was K day at our PrePreSchool! We are having preschool at Amy's house for the next month, April is taking a break hosting since she was expecting and had now had Baby Shepherd! Preschool went so well last week! Little Miss Emma and her brother Joshua were sick and we missed them so much! The kids did so well paying attention, WAY WAY better than when I taught F!

This picture is for Gramma Ronk :) All her little ducks in a row singing "This Little Light of Mine".

Song time!

Claire was dancing and singing until she caught sight of this picture of Uncle John, James, and Nate. She just stared at it for the longest time!

I was the teacher so I didn't get a chance to snap many pictures but I did get this one of the kiddos showing us their k's in sign language!

After we learned how to make k's with our fingers, I had the kiddos come onto the living room floor to make a big K with their bodies!

They loved seeing this picture of them right after I took it!

Since Amie wasn't able to make it, I also filled in as the craft mom! {I LOVE being the craft mom!} I cut kite's for the kiddos (with my Silhouette) and glued them to the background paper and then let the kiddos glue on their K's and decorate with crayons, glitter glue, and foam stickers.

Of course for the K food I had to bring our favorite kale chips! I think they were a hit! That... or Claire went around and ate them off of every one's plates... which I may have seen :)

We can't wait for L day!
