2011 Marine Corps Ball

Saturday, October 29, 2011

Last night we went to the 236th Navy & Marine Corps Birthday Ball. It is so fun that we have 1 night a year guaranteed that we get to dress up all fancy.
This year Brian was one of the Ball coordinators. Though as the ceremony went on, I am pretty sure that he would rather not have that credited to him.... :)

The Ball was held at the Shilshole Bay Beach Club in Ballard. It really was a beautiful venue for the ball.
Anyone recognize that dress?? It my bridesmaid dress from Jenae and Leif's wedding! I am so, so, so excited that I fit in it again!
As always I loved the Commandant's Birthday Message.
The Hubster designed the programs! They turned out great!
I am so bummed that I forgot to take a picture of my food because it was Ah-May-ZING! I ordered the vegetarian entree and it was zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes, herbed goat cheese, and garlic infused chickpeas. Seriously.... best vegetarian entree of my life?! I need to start experimenting on how to make garlic infused chickpeas because they were bomb!

Hubs sure is handsome in his blues!
I don't dance. I am awkward..... But a big part of the ball is the dancing that follows the ceremony and dinner. Hubster participated in a surprise choreographed dance to Party Rock... I did not partake in the dancing this year but I did shake and pinky swear on the fact that next year I will dance.... so I have a year to work on some moves... YIKES!

Happy 236th Birthday Marine Corps!

Keri, you guys looked fabulous! The chickpeas sound delicious! If you figure out something that works, you need to post it!

You didn't show off your awesome zumba moves!? ha You guys look great! If Frank's commands ever had a ball that nice then I'd actually go! But until then I refuse to dress up to go to the hanger bay and eat a precooked meal that is just okay. Paying just to go to his work doesn't seem right to me :/

I guess that means the Marine Corps is awesome :)

Haha and they totally played some of the songs we danced to at Zumba! It made me laugh!

You would think since it's navy/marines they would both have nice balls ha. I just think Frank ends up in commands that don't do much.
