Weekend Review!

What a weekend! Long weekends are so wonderful!

Friday, Mom and I took the girls down to Seattle to meet Kimbe, Aunt Kris, and Grandpa for a late lunch at Thrive. Thrive is a raw organic hippy-ish restaurant in Seattle that we just love! Grandpa didn't love it quite so much and asked it the herbs on the table were marijuana..... Brian opted out of going to Thrive... He gets his hippy fill daily at UW so a hippy restaurant would put him over the edge :)

Saturday, Brian and I took the kiddos to the Children's Museum. Kenley LOVES it there and could run around for hours.

The following pictures are evidence that Kenley is seriously lacking in the fear department.

She is a climber!
After the museum we discovered our new favorite mexican restaurant! I can't remember the name but it is on Colby in Everett and they give you a fresh hot tortilla with butter and salsa right as you walk in and they give you refried beans along with the salsa for your chips! Yum!

I have no photographic evidence of Sunday and Monday but Sunday consisted of Barbara coming over and making various vegan desserts with me for the "afterglow" :). We made Chocolate Pie, Chocolate Chip Blondies, and Cookie Dough Balls. Sadly the only one that I can really recommend is the Chocolate Pie. I really liked the pie and I already have a few different recipe variations of the pie floating around in my head that I cant wait to try.

Monday we walked a 5k! The Marine ROTC unit puts on a Wounded Warrior Dash 5K every Memorial Day. We borrowed Amy's single jogger so that we would both have a stroller to push while we walked. We even beat one of the fire teams... though that was partially because they made a wrong turn :). Another "highlight" was Brian tackling a pit bull to break up a dog fight....

Oh yeah and we also had a houseguest this weekend.

I can't wait until next week when Brian finishes his finals so we can have even more Daddy/Husband time!

I think I know what Mexican restuarant you're talking about, though I don't remember the name. I remember it because it's the only place that has served beans with the chips!
