Sugar Stressed Thoughts

Friday, April 30, 2010

Today is my last day to eat sugar...

Its totally stressing me out! This shows me how addicted I am to it because the thought of going the whole month of May without sugar is making me crazy!

Why did I choose a month with 31 days! I should have chosen a shorter month!

What if everyone wants to go to Baker's Square? Will I be able to resist the syrup?? I only have a few more months to enjoy the buttery goodness....

I finished my last jar of Nutella on Tuesday and I am already craving more. Its going to be a long month without any Nutella!

I am still contemplating if I am going to allow myself Vanilla Greek Yogurt or not... It is sweetened but it is full of protein and I just cant make the move to plain yogurt...

Should I allow my vanilla yogurt or would that totally be cheating and defeat the purpose of no sugar?

Yogurt has many health benefits, so I would allow it. Plus, anything in moderation. Isn't there sugar in Spag. sauce, teriyaki sauce? I thought you meant you were cutting out 'excess' sweets, i.e. desserts. Have fun! I'm gonna quite eating the candy we have at work to support ya :) But... I always allow dark chocolate :) they say its good for you, (I just read that in a Shape magazine) my kind of health food X O

you're CRAZY! Yogurt isn't dessert! You can't go ALL crazy or it will NEVER be pattern change. I have been on no dessert for 3-4 months and only cheated about 6 times! You should just do no things that are called dessert like cookies, ice cream, brownies, cinnamon rolls, etc. But syrup every once in a while yogurt is GOOD for you so go for it! The point is to eat healthy not to be crazy! :) Hope this helps! Maybe cut more and more out each month so you can actually make a life time change! You can do it! Love you! Can't wait to see you soon!

What about buying plain yogurt and sweetening it with honey? If you buy Stoneyfield Farms Cream Top plain you won't have to deal with the strong "plain yogurt" taste. And if you can find raw honey still in liquid form (which means it's fresh, try farmer's markets) then you're getting the added benefit of the honey's natural enzymes, too.
I'm with you on the fear of giving up sugar! I'm completely addicted to Coca-Cola, and I'm sure it's the biggest reason why i can't lose any past-pregnancy weight. I drink it all day long. But I think it's time to say goodbye... :( I'll be watching your progress with the cutback on sugar. It'll help to know that I won't be suffering from withdrawl alone!! :)

You know, if you were REALLY committed, you'd go all out with no yogurt. I mean, that's what I'd do! ;-)

Once you start eating sugar again, try agave. It's the most natural form you can get of sugar. I love it way more than granulated sugar. Good luck! My mom got hypnotised a few years back to cut out sugar and lost a few pounds right away from it.
